What are the different types of high pressure homogenizer
There are two typical types of high-pressure homogenizers:
1. High pressure homogenizer with homogenizing valve
Through reciprocating plunger pump, the sample is squeezed into a narrow gap, which is squeezed by a very high pressure (e.g. 2000bar). When the sample passes through the gap, it only bears a very low pressure (generally 1bar), so the sample with instantaneous pressure loss will produce a large blasting force; the sample with instantaneous pressure loss will be ejected at a very fast speed (200-1000m / s) It will also produce a strong impact force; there will be a certain shear force between sample particles in the process of high-speed jet; therefore, through the blasting force, the impact force and shear force can achieve a very good effect of bacterial crushing or liquid sample homogenization, crushing and emulsification.
2. Microjet high pressure homogenizer
Micro fluidic high-pressure homogenizer is mainly composed of dispersion unit and supercharging mechanism. There are usually “Z” and “Y” types in dispersion unit. Under the action of the supercharging mechanism, the samples under high pressure pass through the narrow gap of the dispersion unit rapidly. At this time, the rapid drop of the internal pressure of the fluid results in the formation of supersonic velocity, particle collision, cavitation and turbulence in the fluid, and the shear force acts on the splitting of micro molecules of nanometer size to make the components of the fluid exist in a completely homogeneous state.
